I pray that you are having a fantastic week up this point. I am so excited for the way God is moving in our church and community. Below are some of the exciting things coming up at New Life. Check them out.
Tonight at 6:30 is game night. Bring your favorite game and a snack to share. Oh, and dont sit next to Carol or Faith or you will never winHAHAHAHA!
Families with children. Our children are preparing a Christmas play/musical right now. It would be so wonderful if you could bring your children by 11 am every Sunday for the next month. Dont miss out on this great worship opportunity and experience with our kids.
Wednesday Night, December 11 we will have a combined worship service with our brothers and sisters from House of Prayer. Our worship service will be shorter than normal as we will follow that up with a Christmas Dinner for all. You dont want to miss this time. What greater time to have a time of unified worship and fellowship than a day we celebrate Christ birth.
Saturday, December 21st we will be delivering gifts and singing carols to our adopted Nursing Home. This Sunday there will be a list provided of items to collect to handout as presents to the residents. Plan on giving and attending on the 21st to make someones Christmas special.
Also, there are our Community Groups that you need to make sure you are a part of to help you grow in Christ.
Monday night, 6:30 Pastor Steve leads this study. For all ages
This coming Tuesday Night at 6:30 for Young Families and Adults. Child care provided.
For those that have the church app, I hope you are enjoying the Verse of the Day and daily devotionals. Here is a link to the app if you do not have it.
On this day in 1907, Francis Thompson died. Francis Thompson wrote what many called the greatest ode in the English Language, The Hound of Heaven. This is a great quote
But is not that a rather irreverent way for Thompson to be talking about God, calling Him a hound? What does he mean by comparing God to a hound?' "'Well, he means the pursuit of God.' "'Oh, I see, Thompson is pursuing God, is he?' "'Oh, no. He is rather running away from God.' "'Well, then, God is pursuing Thompson, is that it?' "'Yes, that's it.
Can I tell you it is not your pursuit of God, but that God pursued you. Arent you glad that God had a dogged pursuit of you, even when you were running away!? Thank you Father, that your prevenient grace is always chasing us down. I hope this thought encourages you today about the faithful God we serve.
